Ouray, Colorado - December 2012

*

December 19th was a snowy day in Ouray, Colorado.
We had a wonderful time, walking through the snow
into downtown from The Box Canyon Lodge.

We looked at many cool buildings and shops, but one
of the most memorable was the old Beaumont Hotel building.

The restored building includes a restaurant and a great bookstore.

Coloradans passing through Ouray know to stop at
Mouse's Chocolates & Coffee to pick up a scrap cookie.
If you're smart, you'll bring some back for your friends.
Their hot chocolate is pretty special too.

Mouse's scrap cookies are just that, made from all the leftovers.
Stopping in for a scrap cookie is like playing the lottery.
You never know exactly what you'll get, but it's always good.
And sometimes... it's even better.

We had dinner at The Outlaw the first night we were in Ouray.
Their Outlaw Baby Back Pork Ribs were really fantastic.
The Linguini in Clam Sauce was also good, but not as good.

Headed out on a day much brighter than the day we arrived.
