Hiking Serpents' Trail at Sunrise

(click on the picture one time, then again once it enlarges in order to see it full size)

We went to Serpent's Trail again today, this time at sunrise.

Some sort of a small hawk or kestrel was beside the trail.
It flew off just as I was trying to get a good picture of it.
If you view this pic full size, you can see it flying just off the trail.

The trail is especially enchanting this time of the morning.

Took us exactly an hour from the time we left out the front door until the time we made it up to the top of the trail. If you look closely, you will see that there is still ice on the ground at this elevation.

The most distant peaks (towards the left) are still covered with snow.
