Moonset from Johnson’s Corner

***

Memories: Moonset from Johnson’s Corner - on I-25 in Johnstown, Colorado - looking over the Rocky Mountains. Pics taken on a cellphone; wish I had my real camera to capture the scene. - Friday, March 2nd, 2018.

Elkmont, Alabama - April 2020

Elkmont, Alabama - April 15th, 2020

Memories: The prime position for this pic was already taken (see pic two to see where I would’ve rather parked). ~ “This Saturn 1B rocket is on display at the Alabama Welcome Center just south of the Tennessee state line in Elkmont, AL. This was one of three of these rockets built in the city of Huntsville, Alabama. I couldn’t park Inky in the prime post card spot, so I got a pic of the truck that was there for scale. That rocket is pretty big!”

Arkansas to Alabama

Today I drove from Arkansas to Alabama. I have an appointment that can’t be changed for tomorrow in Georgia, so I might as well shut it down early this afternoon while truck parking is still easy to find, and get rolling again super early in the a.m. to make it to the con on time. Today in Arkansas, I was disappointed to see that, despite the signs on the doors and placed throughout the truck-stops, almost nobody other than the employees and myself are wearing masks or maintaining anything like a 6ft social distancing. It seems awfully disrespectful to the workers who are showing up everyday to serve our needs and wants to go into these establishments without a mask, but I guess I can really only manage myself. It is worrisome. I do hope we don’t see nationwide COVID spikes in a few weeks as a result of this non-observance of even basic precautions. I guess only time will tell.

Going to continue watching “Picard.” this evening. I’m on s1e4.

Last night’s parking spot in Arkansas.

It’s a good cloud day in Alabama.

Where am I now?

If you’ve found your way here and you’re curious about what’s up with me now, look to the links on the right in the normal web view (they won’t show up on the mobile view) and choose the Instagram link, or the Twitter link. It’s difficult to edit these blog posts from the road, which is why I haven’t done it. I seldom turn on a computer these days. Thank goodness for smart phones! You can find me out there if you look hard enough. I’m out there in the ether.

Thunderstorm in Crook, Colorado

*

My wife and I were in for quite a treat from the cab of the truck in Crook, CO on the night of May 29th, 2016. We witnessed this amazing, silent, lightning show. We were expecting that the storm would probably pass right over us, but it actually missed us. This was a spectacle that neither one of us will ever forget.
