We were enjoying a short day-hike on Turkey Flats Trail in the Grand Mesa National Forest last week when we heard this beautiful bit of birdsong. I am not the birder that I would like to be, so I was unable to identify the species. We searched for the bird in the trees but could not spot it. My friend Scott listened to the singing and (I think) correctly guessed that this was a hermit thrush. What a lovely song it has!
